Vive Pain & Fatigue is a niche telehealth clinic offering integrative physiotherapy for individuals dealing with chronic pain, fatigue, and complex conditions like hypermobility, POTS, MCAS, and related disorders. Our focus is on providing personalized, whole-of-person care, helping you achieve long-term well-being through tailored treatment plans designed to fit your unique needs.
-
No, we are not medical doctors and do not prescribe medications. We are integrative physiotherapists with expertise in managing pain, fatigue, and complex conditions through non-pharmacological approaches, including education, movement therapy, and lifestyle strategies.
-
Our areas of expertise are chronic pain and chronic fatigue - while we work with anyone experiencing these symptoms regardless of their underlying conditions, we have a particular interest in complex invisible illnesses including chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), hypermobility spectrum disorders (including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), Long COVID, fibromyalgia, and similar overlapping conditions.
-
Invisible illnesses are medical conditions that aren't immediately apparent or visible to others. People with invisible illnesses may not display outward signs of their condition, or have an obvious physical cause of their symptoms. Despite being unseen, these conditions can significantly impact a person's daily life and well-being, affecting many aspects of a person’s physical, mental, or emotional health. Because there may be no obvious physical signs, it can difficult for others to understand or recognize someone’s challenges, and many individuals with invisible illnesses often face the added stigma of being disbelieved or invalidated. Examples of invisible illnesses include chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, hypermobility, POTS, MCAS, and autoimmune disorders.
-
Our clinic is fully online, providing all services through video consultations. This allows us to deliver accessible, expert care to patients across Australia, right from the comfort of your own home—eliminating the need for travel while ensuring high-quality support wherever you are.

It’s a common misconception that physiotherapy is only about hands-on treatments like massage. While massage and other manual treatments can be helpful for some people, physiotherapy is much broader than just massage or manual therapy, and also focuses on active strategies like exercise, education, and self-management to address the root causes of symptoms and improve long term function. Research shows that these broader, active approaches are what tend to lead to better long-term outcomes, empowering you to manage your health independently. Research has also shown that telehealth can have comparable outcomes to in-person physiotherapy treatment for many conditions. If hands-on treatment or assessment is ever required, we help coordinate with local providers to ensure you receive the necessary support. You can read more information about how we assess and treat via telehealth below.
-
Existing patients who have already completed their assessment are able to book follow up consultations online.
If you are a new patient, you can get started by submitting our online intake form. See "For New Patients" section below for further information.
-
Our initial assessments involve 2x 55min appointments, followed by a 40min care planning session, giving us ample time to understand your condition and develop a management plan. For follow up consultations, we offer standard (40min), extended (55min) and brief (25min) consultations, depending on your needs and preferences.

You can reach out to us via phone (week days, 8.30am-5pm AEST) or at any time via email or our online enquiry form - see Contact Us for more details.
Our Treatment Approach
-
Integrative physiotherapy is a holistic approach to treatment that combines traditional physiotherapy techniques with a broader understanding of health and well-being. This approach looks beyond just physical symptoms, considering the interaction between various body systems, mental health, lifestyle factors, and social or environmental influences. The goal is to address the whole person, not just an isolated injury or condition.
In integrative physiotherapy, treatments might include:
Conventional physiotherapy techniques like exercises, manual therapy, and movement rehabilitation.
Meaningful goal setting and functional rehabilitation: Integrative physiotherapists emphasize collaborative goal setting to align treatment with your personal and functional goals, such as returning to work, engaging in hobbies, or improving overall quality of life. There is a focus on movements or tasks that reflect your real-world environment, ensuring rehabilitation is practical and meaningful.
Mind-body techniques, such as mindfulness, relaxation exercises, and breathing techniques, to help calm and desensitize the nervous system and manage emotional and psychological aspects of pain and fatigue.
Patient education is a cornerstone of integrative physiotherapy, empowering you to take an active role in your own recovery. This can include teaching you about how pain and fatigue work, especially in chronic conditions, to help you better understand and manage your symptoms.
Pacing and energy management: For conditions like chronic pain or fatigue, learning how to balance activity and load with rest is critical. Integrative physiotherapists guide you on pacing strategies to avoid symptom flare-ups and maintain a sustainable activity level, considering all physical, emotional, cognitive, and sensory stresses on the body.
Trigger identification and management: Helping you recognize specific triggers (e.g., stress, certain movements, environmental factors) that may exacerbate your symptoms, and providing strategies to manage or avoid them.
Lifestyle strategies: Integrative physiotherapy emphasizes the importance of lifestyle factors in managing health and symptoms.
Nutrition: While integrative physiotherapists typically don't prescribe specific diets, they acknowledge the important role of nutrition in overall health and well-being. Basic guidance on positive nutritional changes may be provided to help support recovery, reduce inflammation, and manage symptoms effectively, with support from a dietitian as needed.
Sleep: Sleep plays a crucial role in healing and managing chronic conditions. Integrative physiotherapists may provide education on the importance of sleep for pain and fatigue and offer practical tips to improve your sleep quality and patterns, helping you get the rest your body needs for recovery.
Stress management: Chronic stress can exacerbate many health conditions. Integrative physiotherapists may provide support with techniques to reduce everyday stressors, including strategies to manage cognitive load, implement restorative practices, set healthy boundaries, and incorporate relaxation exercises.
Collaboration with other healthcare professionals, such as dietitians, psychologists, or medical practitioners, to provide a comprehensive, interdisciplinary approach to care.
-
We take a holistic and individualized approach to chronic pain and fatigue, providing both assessment and ongoing support as needed. We start by getting a comprehensive, big-picture view of your condition (including your history, symptoms and goals), and offer follow up consultations as needed based on your needs. We work with you to develop a management plan combining education, strategies for symptom management, movement/exercise plans, pacing strategies, mindfulness and regulation strategies, and lifestyle modifications. We work collaboratively with other health professionals, and can help identify any additional support, investigations, or referrals that you may require. Our goal is to empower our patients to better understand and manage their symptoms, ensuring you have the support and tools you need to help improve your quality of life.
-
Pain is always a complex experience that involves many contributing factors—biological, emotional, and social. Even where there might be a lack of one clear physical cause for symptoms, this does not mean pain is ‘just in your head’, and your pain is no less real. We take a holistic, person-centered approach to understanding your pain, considering all aspects of your health, including your body, mind, and environment. We are here to validate your experience and provide support that empowers you to manage your health effectively, tailored to your unique contributing factors.
-
Yes, we specialise in managing patients with complex overlapping conditions. We understand the interconnected nature of many symptoms, invisible illnesses and conditions like EDS, POTS, and MCAS. Our integrative approach ensures that we take a tailored ‘big-picture’ view, and rather than managing all symptoms in isolation, taking holistic approach to empower you with tools and strategies to improve your overall health and quality of life.
-
All physiotherapists undergo a four year undergraduate physiotherapy degree (or Masters-level equivalent) before they are able to register with AHPRA and work as a physio. Senior physiotherapists have over five years of post-graduate experience and have developed high level skills and knowledge in their areas of clinical interest.
A titled physiotherapist is a “highly qualified physiotherapist with expert knowledge and skills” in a particular field of practice (e.g. pain, neurological, sports). The Australian Physiotherapy Association awards a title after a physiotherapist completes a rigorous process to demonstrate their experience and capability. Titled Pain Physiotherapists have completed a Masters-level degree in Pain Management in addition to their base physiotherapy degree.

Telehealth is an effective option for assessment and treatment of many of the conditions we treat, allowing you to receive expert care from the comfort of your home. Telehealth is frequently preferable for people with chronic pain and fatigue, as leaving the house to attend appointments can cause significant flare ups. Our physiotherapists are experienced in conducting thorough assessments remotely, which include:
Detailed history-taking: We’ll ask about your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and goals to get a comprehensive understanding of your condition. This helps us to identify patterns, triggers, and any underlying factors contributing to your health concerns.
Symptom assessment: We'll guide you through structured questions to evaluate your current symptoms, including pain levels, fatigue, mobility limitations, and other concerns. This allows us to track changes and tailor your treatment accordingly.
Physical & functional assessment: Many physical assessments can be done via telehealth, including posture analysis, joint range-of-motion testing, functional strength assessment, and balance tests. We are also able to observe how you perform daily activities like walking, bending, or reaching. We’ll guide you step-by-step through each movement or position while providing real-time feedback and modifications. This helps us evaluate your movement patterns, identify limitations or dysfunctions, and measure your current level of physical function. One advantage of telehealth is that we can see you in your home or work environment, which is really useful for assessing specific things you are having trouble with day to day.
Telehealth of course does have limitations, and our priority is ensuring you get the care you need. If at any point we feel you require further in-person physical assessment or treatment, we will advise you accordingly and help to coordinate care with a local provider if needed.
-
A wide range of treatments can be effectively delivered via telehealth, especially for conditions like chronic pain, fatigue, hypermobility, POTS, and related health concerns. Our physiotherapists provide the following types of care. Treatment is always individualized and adapted based on your needs, but could include:
Education: We provide comprehensive education about your condition and contributing factors, explaining how symptoms can be managed, what lifestyle changes may help, and offering resources for further support.
Personalized movement/exercise programs: We help you develop tailored movement programs specifically designed to accommodate your symptoms and meet your needs and goals. These exercises can be demonstrated and adjusted in real-time during video consultations.
Postural and movement interventions: While there are a lot of myths about “correct posture,” assessing postural or movement habits over video can still be useful in identifying patterns of load that may be contributing to your symptoms. We can then offer guidance on strategies, exercises, adjustments, or movement variations you can implement in your daily activities to help reduce symptoms
Functional goal setting and rehabilitation: We work with you to set meaningful, achievable goals based on your personal needs and daily challenges. This can include strategies to improve your mobility, strength, endurance, or ability to perform specific tasks that are important to you.
Self-management strategies: We'll equip you with techniques to manage your symptoms, including pacing, energy conservation, self-monitoring, and lifestyle changes. These are essential tools for long-term improvement in conditions like chronic pain or fatigue.
Pain management techniques: Telehealth is effective for guiding you through a range of pain management tools, including relaxation and regulation techniques, breathing exercises, and mindfulness practices, which can help to reduce discomfort and improve your quality of life.
Trigger identification and management: We help you identify specific triggers that may worsen your symptoms—whether physical, emotional, or environmental. Once identified, we work together on strategies to manage or avoid these triggers, helping to reduce the frequency and intensity of symptom flare-ups.
Advice on assistive equipment or aids: We can provide guidance on selecting and using assistive devices such as braces, supports, mobility aids, or ergonomic tools to help you manage your symptoms and improve daily function. Where needed, we can also identify when referral or coordination with other health professionals (e.g. an Occupational Therapist) would be valuable to help with more specialised assistive equipment.
Flare-Up Plans: We help you develop individualized flare-up management plans so that when your symptoms worsen, you’ll have strategies in place to navigate through the flare, reduce discomfort, and recover more effectively.
Support and follow-up: Regular check-ins allow us to track your progress, help you problem-solve any barriers or blocks, and make necessary adjustments to your treatment plan. We provide ongoing support to ensure you feel confident and empowered in managing your health.
Collaboration with other professionals: If needed, we can collaborate with other healthcare providers involved in your care, such as GPs, specialists, or local therapists, to ensure a well-rounded and coordinated approach to your treatment. This is particularly helpful for more complex cases where multidisciplinary input is required.
While hands-on therapy can be helpful for some people, and may be part of your overall management plan if required, current guidelines and research highlight that broader, active strategies—like exercise, education, and self-management—are the most important components of managing complex conditions. These broader strategies often lead to better long-term outcomes by empowering you with the tools and knowledge needed to manage your health independently. If in-person care becomes necessary at any stage, we’ll advise you and help coordinate with local providers to ensure your needs are met.
-
Yes, we can provide reports with supporting evidence for NDIS and DSP applications. These reports are quite specific, require a high level of detail and can require a lot of time to write. If you require a report for these purposes, please let us know so we can discuss your needs - depending on the time involved, additional report writing fees may apply.
It is important to note that we can never guarantee the outcome of any application, as your eligibility is assessed independently. We encourage all patients to gather as much supporting documentation as possible, particularly from their treating medical doctors, to help support any application.
New Patients
-
Yes, all new patients at Vive Pain & Fatigue require an initial assessment. This is a critical step in our person-centered approach to care. Chronic pain, fatigue, and complex conditions vary greatly from person to person, so a thorough assessment allows us to understand your unique symptoms, history, and goals. During the assessment, we gather detailed information about your condition, lifestyle, and any contributing factors to create a personalized treatment plan that best supports your needs. This ensures that we address not just the symptoms, but also the underlying contributors and complexities of your health, helping us provide the most effective care possible.
-
It depends. If you are seeing us as a private patient, you do not need a referral. However, we always welcome referrals or reports from your GP or specialist, as it provides us with additional information.
If you wish to access Medicare rebates, or if your sessions are to be paid through DVA, Workers Compensation, CTP insurance, you do require a relevant referral from your doctor.
-
Our assessments are completed over three consultations - 2x 55min assessment sessions, plus a 40 minute care planning and initial treatment session. We have structured our assessments in this way to ensure we have ample time to obtain a detailed medical and symptom history, perform any relevant assessments, understand your needs and goals, and develop a tailored management plan.
Typically we find that the first appointment is often spent on gathering a detailed history and getting a good picture of your symptoms through discussion. The second appointment generally focuses on ‘filling any gaps’ from our first appointment, including any relevant physical assessment. You may also be sent additional questionnaires to assist our assessment. The third appointment is where we bring it all together, forming a tailored management plan. This involves discussion of how we can help you with ongoing support and treatment, but also any referrals or additional support that might be required from other health care professionals.
After your sessions are complete, we write a summary letter back to your GP (and other health professionals, if desired), with a summary of our assessment, recommendations and plan.
You can read more on our Assessment page.
-
New patients will need to complete our online intake form, which is reviewed by our clinical team. We will then be in touch to confirm any additional details and to book in your assessment sessions. If you require any assistance or have any questions about this process, please send us an email or give us a call, and our support team will be more than happy to help.
-
Once you have booked in for your assessment, we will send through a confirmation email with a link to complete a detailed symptom questionnaire prior to your appointment. We appreciate if you could please also send us through any copies you have of referrals, imaging results, relevant medical records or previous test results - anything you think would be helpful! Don't worry if you don't have copies of certain things - we can also follow up and obtain results or reports as needed.
Fees and Rebates
-
Our fees vary depending on the type and duration of the appointment, as well as the physiotherapist you see. You can see our full fee schedule here
-
You will receive automatic booking confirmation emails, that contain a link to check and update your payment details, which are saved securely on our system using Stripe. You can also provide us with your details over the phone. You only need to give us your details once. Following your appointment, payment is automatically processed for you using those saved details, and you’ll receive an emailed receipt - easy peasy.
-
Yes, our services are eligible for private health rebates, depending on your individual coverage. Relevant claiming codes can be found on our fees page. After each session, we will process payment in full, and then provide you with an invoice you can use to claim directly with your health fund.
-
Medicare rebates are only available for patients with a valid EPC/CDM referral from their doctor. If you have a Medicare referral, we generally require payment in full at the time of your appointment, and will then process your rebate on your behalf. Medicare will deposit your rebate into your account (generally within 24-48 hours). You can see more information about Medicare referrals, rebates and the claiming process on our fees page.
-
Unfortunately, no. Private health insurance and Medicare rebates cannot both be claimed for the same appointment. More information about EPC/CDM referrals, rebate amounts and eligibility can be found on the Medicare website here.
-
Unfortunately, current Medicare rates do not adequately support the amount of time we invest in your care, and as a result we cannot routinely offer bulk billing.
However, we recognise that many people experience financial barriers to accessing care, and are committed to doing what we can through our Vive Health Equity Initiative. If you are experiencing exceptional financial hardship, you can request to be considered for bulk-billed or subsidised sessions.
We offer a very limited number of these sessions per week, and as such, it may involve a significant wait time, and appointments will only be offered to patients on this list as they become available.
-
You can choose to apply for our Equity Initiative while completing our intake form. You will then be placed on our wait list and you will be contacted to book as appointments become available.
Equity Initiative sessions require a valid Medicare referral to be bulk billed. If you are not eligible for a Medicare referral or have already exhausted your 5 allied health rebates for the year, subsidized sessions may be offered instead, which involve an out of pocket fee equivalent to the current Medicare bulk billing rate. More information about EPC/CDM referrals, rebate amounts and eligibility can be found on the Medicare website here.
-
We ask that you please respect our time and give as much notice as possible should you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, so that we are able to offer that appointment slot to someone else who may be on our waiting list. In cases of late cancellation (less than 24 hours notice) or non-attendance without notice, we reserve the right to charge a fee equivalent to the full appointment fee. We do understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise that cannot be avoided, and may choose to waive our usual fee in some cases. A link to our full late cancellation/non-attendance policy can be found here
-
We prefer to write any short reports/letters within your consultation, as it ensures that they can be written in a timely manner and any relevant details can be discussed with you. Any reports/letters completed within an appointment (or as part of your assessment package) are provided at no additional charge. Where a report/letter is requested by you outside of a scheduled appointment, or for longer reports, we will discuss your needs and the likely time required to complete your request, and report writing fees may apply.
-
We are able to provide NDIS-funded services for participants who are self-managed or plan-managed and have appropriate funding available in their plan.
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide NDIS-funded services for participants that are agency-managed as we are not NDIA accredited.
-
For plan-managed participants, we require a signed service agreement, and invoices will be sent directly to the participant’s plan manager for payment.
Self-managed participants are responsible for payment of services at the time of the appointment, and will then submit their invoice for reimbursement from the NDIS directly.
-
We are able to accept referrals for patients covered under a current NSW Workers Compensation/CTP claim. We do require prior approval from your insurer, and will send a request for our services once we receive your referral.
-
We are able to accept DVA patients, however, we require prior approval for our services. We will submit the relevant request to DVA after we have received your referral. Please note, the approval process through DVA can take 1-2 months due to their processing timelines.
Telehealth
-
Telehealth sometimes means different things to different people, but generally telehealth refers to any medical or health consultation conducted over phone call or video.
In our clinic, all of our services are provided via online video consultation, so that you and your physiotherapist can see and interact each other during the session
-
All of our appointments are run within Coviu - a dedicated telehealth software. It is a web-browser-based program that supports video consultations. Coviu is web-browser-based; no software or app installation is required! Coviu runs on Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Safari web browsers and can be used on any device through a single click of a link.
-
Coviu is a safe and secure platform. No data being exchanged in a Coviu call is saved, unless you consent to it. Your Coviu call is encrypted between you and your provider; this means no one can ever listen to a Coviu call without permission. Coviu is fully HIPAA compliant and certified as meeting data security standards for private health information (see https://help.coviu.com/knowledge/hipaa-compliance) for more information.
-
We recommend using a reliable internet connection. A home Wi-Fi or a good 4G/5G mobile connection is great! Please note that other online activities, such as video streaming services, computer games, etc. can highly impact your internet connection. They can limit your ability to connect successfully for your consultation.
-
Once you book an appointment, we’ll send you an email confirmation with details of your booking, along with the appointment link. When your appointment time arrives, Simply click the link in your confirmation or reminder email, and Coviu will open in your chosen web browser. Once opened, you will be asked to identify yourself and placed virtually in a Coviu Waiting Room until your provider is ready to join you.
-
Yes! While we’re confident that accessing your telehealth sessions is super easy with Coviu, for peace of mind you are able to use the Pre-Call Test to check that you can access the platform and that your device's camera and microphone are working correctly.
-
Your video consultation experience will be best if we ensure we have a private, quiet and dedicated place for our meeting. Make sure to have all you need nearby, e.g. notes, books, pads, pens and a drink. Remove distractions, and ensure that the TV, radio or other computer applications are turned off.
Please also have your mobile phone nearby so we can make contact in case of any technical difficulties that may arise.
-
If for some reason you are having any difficulty accessing your session (e.g. can’t find the link, or having technology issues) please give us a call or send us a message as soon as possible so we can assist you. Don’t worry if our admin team are unable to answer your call - if you leave a voice message, your therapist will be able to see that you have attempted to call and will reach out to you directly.
Inclusive Care
-
Trauma-informed care is an approach that recognizes and responds to the widespread impact of trauma on a person’s health and well-being. It does not involve specific psychological treatment of trauma, but rather acknowledges that past or ongoing trauma, whether physical, emotional, or psychological, can affect how a person experiences pain, engages in treatment, and interacts with healthcare providers.
We incorporate trauma-informed care by creating a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental environment. We take the following steps to ensure your comfort and emotional safety:
Prioritizing your emotional and physical safety: We provide a calm, patient-centered atmosphere, where you control how much or how little you want to share about your experiences. Your comfort is always our top priority.
Empowering you in decision-making: You have full control over your care plan. We encourage open communication, invite your feedback, and ensure you feel empowered to make decisions about your treatment at every step.
Respecting boundaries: We are mindful of both physical and emotional boundaries. You will never pressured into sharing more than you're comfortable with, and we adapt our approaches based on your needs and preferences.
Fostering trust and transparency: We aim to explain all aspects of your care clearly, so you know what to expect and feel confident in your treatment process. We maintain clear, open communication and ensure that you feel heard and understood.
Acknowledging the connection between trauma and health: We understand that trauma can affect both the body and mind. Our treatments are tailored to account for this, recognizing that chronic pain and fatigue may be influenced by past trauma. We aim to support you holistically, considering both your physical and emotional needs.
By adopting a trauma-informed approach, we aim to ensure your care is sensitive, compassionate, and supportive of your overall well-being, not just your symptoms.
-
Yes! Neurodiversity-affirming care is something very important to us, and many of our team are neurodivergent themselves. We recognize and respect that every brain is wired differently, and seek to understand your unique needs, preferences and communication styles. We focus on your strengths and work collaboratively with you to develop treatment strategies that are supportive and empowering, without trying to "fix" or change who you are. Our goal is to honour neurodiversity in all of its forms, and ensure your healthcare experience is respectful, inclusive, and effective.
-
We recognize that everyone’s needs are unique, and we strive to support your care with individualized accommodations based on your preferences. Some of the ways we can accommodate your needs include:
Using preferred modes of contact: When arranging appointments, we aim to contact you using your preferred methods wherever possible (text, email, or phone—whatever is most comfortable for you)
Pre-session information: We provide details ahead of time to reduce anxiety and help you prepare, giving you space to think about important information before the session. We’re always happy for you to ask us additional specific questions beforehand if anything isn’t covered on our website or in these FAQ’s!
Flexible appointment lengths: If needed, you can book longer sessions to allow extra time for processing or discussion, or shorter sessions to manage physical or cognitive fatigue. If needed, we can also break our assessment sessions into several smaller appointments.
Encouraging comfort: We welcome you to position yourself however you feel most comfortable during sessions—whether sitting, standing, lying down in bed, or moving around frequently. Feel free to wear your comfy clothes, cozy up in blankets, or bring a beverage or snacks.
Bringing a support person: You are welcome to bring a support person to assist with communication or processing information during sessions.
Embracing diverse communication styles: We encourage you to communicate in a way that feels natural to you. We assume positive intent in all forms of communication and welcome direct or straightforward styles without judgment. Eye contact is not expected if it’s not comfortable for you. We also welcome the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices that help you to express your needs and thoughts in ways that work for you. If you prefer, we can ask more direct or closed questions rather than broad, open-ended ones, to help facilitate the conversation.
Processing time: we can give you additional time to process questions or information as needed. Some people might prefer to follow up in an email or written response, or discuss further in their next appointment. We’re also more than happy for you to ask us to repeat or rephrase something we have said to help you process the information.
Video off: You can turn off the video at any point during the session to give yourself a break from being on camera - we’ll let you know if and when we need to be able to see you for specific assessment or treatment.
Sensory accommodations: We can adjust lighting or backgrounds during video calls to create a more comfortable sensory environment, and we use noise suppression to minimize background noise coming through our microphones.
Stimming tools or sensory aids: You are welcome to use stimming tools or sensory aids during sessions.
Pacing and breaks: We’ll pace the session to accommodate cognitive fatigue or sensory overload, and you’re welcome to take breaks as needed.
Post session summaries and resources: We can provide you with a brief summary of your session, or additional diagrams or resources to help you retain and process information. Educational materials can also be provided in formats you prefer, such as videos, podcasts, or short written summaries.
Tailored treatment recommendations sensitive to sensory and motor preferences, symptoms, cognitive style and other needs.
If there’s anything else we can do to support you not mentioned above, please reach out at any time. We’re always happy to discuss specific accommodations that would enhance your care.
-
Yes - we are committed to ensuring that all patients feel empowered and respected throughout their healthcare journey with us. We recognise that many in the LGBTQI+ community have faced healthcare discrimination, and we take a trauma-informed approach to provide compassionate and sensitive care. We follow key principles of inclusivity, respect, and understanding, holding space for you to discuss any specific health needs related to your gender or sexual identity without fear of judgment.
-
We strive to provide inclusive care for all patients, including those who may have a preferred language other than spoken English, and welcome the use of professional interpreters. Some patients may already have an interpreter, but we are also happy to discuss your needs and help arrange interpreting services through the Australian Government Translating and Interpreting Services. Interpreter services can often be accessed free of charge, but fees may apply depending on your circumstances.
-
We understand that family members or friends may wish to assist during consultations, and we welcome their involvement when it helps you feel supported. However, when language support is required, we encourage the use of a professional medical interpreter wherever possible. This ensures that medical and treatment information is conveyed accurately and without misunderstandings, promoting the best possible outcomes for your care.
